Draw Something. This app really is incredibly fun and popular. You take turns drawing one of three words, meanwhile your opponent has a selection of letters to help them narrow down their guess. Due to the rather laborious nature of drawing, it can at times be rather slow. This is combated by being able to have several games going at the same time. It's perfectly suited to anyone that wants a cheap app that will waste hours of your life with mindless drawing.

Pinterest. I love this app, it's fast becoming the one of the best new social networking apps without any of the flaws.  It's also extremely simple. The idea behind it is to basically share pictures you like and attach them to your own virtual Pinboard. It can either be your own photos or found on the internet. Similar to Tumblr but without the teenage angst. Moreover, using the search function it makes it very easy to find like minded individuals that you can follow in a matter of moments.

Basing itself on the structure of a simple tower defense game (something that is already flooded with competitors) this game has the charm to set itself above the rest. It's captured the attention of every level of gamer, whether you're the casual gamer waiting for the bus or the hardcore gamer wanting your next fix this game is for you. Forget Angrybirds, there's a new kid in town.

Shazam. This is one of the better music apps on the market. Shazam can identify songs by listening to them for a short amount of time. Merely hold up your Iphone to the source of the music, wait a few seconds while the app trawls through its large database for a matching song and it should identify it for you. It's perfect for when you have to know the name of a song when you normally can't find the information quickly enough. one drawback it seems is that even though it does have such a large database it really isn't feasible to have every song in the world on it. naturally there will be gaps in its knowledge.
